Many are the different types of glass created by master makers on the Venetian island of Murano. From air-thin vases to expressive sculptures, also massive objects with deep and vivid hues of colour represent the great skills of glassmakers. The present bowl, designed in the style of some Carlo Scarpa creations, is a perfect example of how attractive massive Murano glass can be. Made in frosted clear (“cristallo”) glass, it has a square hole originally intended as an ashtray, highlighted by a bright accent in white. It can be dated approximately to the mid 1960s, based on the style and colors of the piece.

It measures 15 cm in diameter, with a height of 4 cm. The hole measures 6×6 cm  with a depth of 2 cm.
