Osvaldo Borsani has been one of the most relevant designers of the Italian Twentieth century. He began his career in the late 1930s penning art-deco pieces, but successfully evolved his style to fully embrace the mid-century aestethic after WW2.
Amongst his most famous design, that skillfully merge industrial materials and refined lines, the P40 lounge chair and D70 sofa stand out for thei ingenuity and beauty. Conceived to be fully swiveling, with adjustable seat and backrest, they offer the maximum flexibility without giving up an inch on style. The sofa, of which a pristine example is offered, can even turn into a bed if the seat and backrest are both placed horizontally.
Our D70 has just been redone in grey fabric, and is in stunning conditions. The reclining mechanism works very smoothly on both sides, the legs show nothing more than patina and the original Tecno red logos are still crisp and clearly visible on the side plates.
