Bastiano sofa by Afra & Tobia Scarpa for Gavina

Designed by Afra and Tobia Scarpa, the Bastiano sofa incorporates all the distinctive features and quirks of the couple’s most famous designs, from the geometric frame with flat legs – see the Monk and Cassina 121 chairs – and center leg on the back (same as the Pigreco chair) to the choice of materials, with a similar shade of brown also appearing on the Coronado sofas or the Accademia chairs.

The present sofa – of which two are available – is an iconic and sought after model, and is preserved in thoroughly original conditions. The wooden parts are in nice shape, and the cushions show expectable signs of use.
