Azucena LP 11 wall lamps

Whether you’re strolling around the center of Milano, or browsing through the pages of Taschen’s monumental “Entryways of Milan”, chances are you’ll spot quite a few of these lamps: originally penned in the 1950s by Italian architect and designer Luigi Caccia Dominioni for Azucena, the lighting brand he had founded, the LP11 is one of his most coveted designs.

Their large dimensions (115cm of overall height and spheres measuring 30cm in diameter) made them an ideal complement for the majestic hallways of Milanese buildings, often in dialogue with decorations by artists the likes of Lucio Fontana and Francesco Somaini.

The present two lamps, preserved in very good cosmetic conditions and recently rewired with new components, show the original “AZUCENA” mark on the back of the mounting plates. They are in working order and ready to be installed.
