“Catena” Murano floor lamp
The collaboration between designer-glassmaker Carlo Nason and Murano based furnace Mazzega is probably the most prolific and celebrated in the history of artistic glassmaking. The outcome of this relation, carried on for more than two decades, are mostly lamps of all kinds: chandeliers, table lamps, sconces and floor lamps.
Amongst the different series that Nason designed, the “Catena” is one of the best known. The name, italian for chain, refers to the peculiar shape of the glasses, resembling the intertwined links of a chain. Extremely sought after and very hard to find in good condition due to their fragility, these lamps now command high premiums at auctions and design fairs all around the globe.
The lamp measures 40x40x165H cm and is preserved in pristine conditions. It’s perfectly working and has been overviewed by a certified electrician. Worldwide shipping is available. Please inquire for price.
