Vintage Orrefors Vase
Having started its activities in the late 1800s, and being still active today after an acquisition from Royal Denmark, Orrefors is one of the oldest surviving glassmakers in Sweden and possibly in the whole world. With style and quality that fear no rivals, not even the celebrated Murano glassblowers, its creations are true collectors’ pieces, and have been a testimony of the evolution of design and taste over the course of a century.
The present vase, made in “Sommerso” grey/green glass enveloped by a layer of crystal, dates back to the 1960s and is preserved in astonishing conditions. The little red sticker, depicting Orrefors’ shield, is well visible at the bottom of the piece. There are no cracks or dents, and just a minimal patina is visible throughout.
It’s 27cm tall and 14cm wide.
