Inspired by nature and memories
For Spinzi, Lake Como has always been a great source of inspiration and an escape from the buzz of Milano. It is a place gently wet by water, surrounded by mountains, both vibrant and wild, silent and enveloping.
This place of memories and experiences gave life to a series of drawings inspired by the colours and reflections of the lake. The drawings pay a personal and intimate homage to the artistic heritage of Lake Como, from the material works of the celebrated “Magistri Cumacini” to the neo-futuristic shapes of painters like Mario Radice.
We then used these geometric drawings to create a series of artworks that complement interiors, bringing inside the warm feeling and colours of nature. “Abstraction” is a wool carpet that represents a landscape of Lake Como seen through the eyes of local artist and designer Tommaso Spinzi.
